Children can either have a school dinner or bring their own packed lunch to school. Our school meals are provided by Taylor Shaw and are prepared daily in our kitchen, with a choice of healthy main courses and desserts. All children eat their meals in the school hall. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to free school dinners. Children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will need to pay for their school dinners through SCO-PAY, unless you are in receipt of income-related Free School Meals in which case your child will receive their school dinner for free, see the information below.
Our menus operate on a three week rota. We encourage our parents and carers to talk to their child each morning about their choice of school dinner. Children choose either a red, blue, yellow or green meal when the teacher takes the morning register. You can pre-book your child's dinner on SCO-PAY for the week.
Medical Diets Request
If your child requires a medical diet due to a diagnosed food allergy, diagnosed food intolerance or a medical condition requiring an adapted menu (e.g. carbohydrate count for Type 1 Diabetes), please follow this link to request a medical diet. For further support, please refer to the following document: 'Medical Diet Menus - A Guide for Parents, Guardians & Carers'.
All medical diet requests must be supported with medical evidence. This must be in the form of a letter which clearly outlines your child's food allergies/intolerances, and must be from a medical Doctor, Dietician or Specialist Nurse.
Kindly note, you do not need to make a request for dietary preferences, or for the following diets: vegan, pescetarian, vegetarian or halal, as these requirements can be met through the standard menu.
Packed Lunches
We understand that some parents and carers would prefer their children to bring a packed lunch into school, rather than having a hot dinner. We always encourage our pupils to eat healthily.
Free School Meals
Free school meals are available to some children according to family income.
